This crime occurs when a person:
- Person is a sexual offender or has agreed or stipulated that he has been convicted as a sex offender.
- Person had a place of residence in a County of Florida.
- Person knowingly failed to report in person to the appropriate Sheriff’s office within 48 hours of before the date the person intended to leave the state. OR
- Person knowingly failed to report in person to the appropriate Sheriff’s office within 21 days before the date the person intended to leave Florida to establish residence for 5 days or longer outside of Florida. OR
- Person knowingly failed to provide the required information (address, municipality, county, state) of the intended address, when the person reported to the appropriate Sheriff’s office. OR
- Person intended to travel internationally and knowingly failed to provide the appropriate Sheriff’s office the expected departure and return dates.
Defenses to Failure by a Sexual Offender to Comply with Registration Requirements.
